IF you’re all about the subtle side when it comes to make-up, you’re going to love the new limited edition Laura Mercier Watercolour Mist Eye & Cheek Palette.

Launched earlier this month, this latest offering from Laura Mercier comes as part of the new Watercolour Clouds spring make-up collection.

Unlike many of this season’s spring palettes which follow the more traditional dreamy pinks and soft pastel shades, the Watercolour Mist Eye & Cheek Palette is far more understated, and dare we even suggest, dark.

Forget your soft and sweet colours with equally cute names, this palette features six matte sateen shades named after the elements – Cloud, Purple Rain, Wind, Mist, Fog and Storm. They may look quite dark on the palette, but they go on with a watercolour-like light and fresh finish.

They’re joined by two cheek colours in shades Sunset and Earth which offer a warm contrast to the cooler eye colours.

And we have to give credit to the designers of the palette itself, a metallic case covered in water drops which does look incredibly realistic, if not very similar to MAC’s 2014 Alluring Aquatic collection.
