WE all know hand sanitisers are important, but they can be hard work, usually because they’re just a little bit dull.
I’m also not a fan of the strong clinical smell you tend to get with the antibacterial ones, and as for those without antibacterial agents, then what is the point?
Merci Handy recently launched a range of cute, sweet scented antibacterial hand gels, packed with emollient pearls and vitamin E to keep hands hydrated and squeaky clean.
I’ve been testing the new Merci Handy Love & Hand Cleansing Gel in Black Vanilla, which is available in Top Shop and costs £2.90.
The bottle contains 30ml of the sweet-smelling stuff and is a lovely small size which fits in your hand neatly, and is perfect for dropping into even the smallest of clutch bags.
You need just a small drop, and it dries almost instantly – far better than faffing on with those dire hand dryers in public toilets.
It feels fresh and cooling – which will make it ideal for use on those sweaty summer days – and it doesn’t dry the hands, in fact I found mine felt very soft, as if I’d just applied a light hand cream.
Initially it has a bit of a sharp alcoholic whiff to it, but within a few seconds this fades to reveal a gorgeous sweet and warm vanilla scent.
It’s a very comforting and reassuring fragrance – it certainly has none of the harsh sharpness that many antibacterial hand gels have – and the gentle scent lasts hours.
I really like this hand gel. Initially I was surprised at how small the bottle is, but I’ve found a little goes a long way, and once I realised its size means you can take it anywhere, I was sold.
I like the way the fragrance lasts for a long time after use, and it smells expensive too, which is always a good thing.
